A rider came in to the workshop the other day saying the Brompton front wheel is riding oddly. I offered him a check up and see what can be done to it.
After the initial inspections, the nut that the bearings are running on top on had deformed. Hence the bearings and wheel weren’t able to rotate smoothly.
Eventually we had replaced all the bearings and the bearing holding nuts to have the wheel running smooth all over again.
This image shows clearly the bearing holding nut had been deformed.
The wheel had been fully serviced before putting it back to action.
